With Carinthia and Styria, Belgium today also put the last two federal states on the red list of risk areas. As the Foreign Ministry confirmed to the APA, the regulation, which corresponds to a level six travel warning, comes into force tomorrow afternoon.
This means that from that time on, a ten-day quarantine can be imposed on travellers entering Belgium from Austria. According to the Foreign Ministry, due to congestion at the test centers, the obligation to test after entering from “red zones” is temporarily suspended for asymptomatic persons until November 15, 2020.
Travel warning for Czech Republic
Austria issued a travel warning for the entire Czech Republic and partial warnings for regions in Belgium and Great Britain. These regulations will come into force on Saturday, the Foreign Ministry (BMEIA) announced in the afternoon. The Belgian regions of Brussels and Wallonia and the British regions of North East, East Midlands and Yorkshire and The Humber are affected.
According to the ministry, travelers who are currently staying in the country or regions mentioned above must present a negative test for SARS-CoV-2 when returning to Austria. Worldwide, the Austrian Foreign Ministry continues to apply at least security level four. It was said that travel that is not absolutely necessary is not recommended.
